Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally played + broken nails?!

Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally played + broken nails?!

Sean playing zeldaLast night Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally finished downloading at about 10:30pm but of course I didn’t get to play it, my brother Sean bought it and wanted to play it first. I was happy to just watch him play for now though, but it did spoil a bit of the start of the game for me before I had a chance to play myself. He played really slow exploring as much as possible though so luckily I didn’t get too much spoiled! Later in the night before I went to bed I decided to put on my new fake nails which I bought last week from B&M which you can read the post where I bought them here:

//www.tiatalks.co.uk/saturday-shopping/

ma fake nailsIn the first couple of minutes of wearing the fake nails one of them had already fallen off! So I went to stick it back on, but another had popped off in the process.. I was 2 nails down at this point so I just left them and went to bed. By the morning all of them had fallen off on their own! I guess you really do get what you paid for.

Today I woke up at 11am to play Zelda before Sean woke up so I could catch up with him. However it didn’t turn out that way, although I laughed and joked about him dying a lot the game actually was harder than it looked and I struggled in some of the same areas too. After playing for about an hour my mum came bursting through the front door giving me the fright of my life! The first thing she did when she came in was head upstairs to wake up my brother Sean! D: When he woke up he let me keep playing for another hour before he was itching to play again so I let him and play and decided to go upstairs so I didn’t get any more of the game spoiled.

Later my mum went to work at 3pm and I decided to come back downstairs and found Sean still playing the game! So now I just decided to start semi-watching him as I sat on the couch playing on my phone, I didn’t have a clue where he was in the game but I could tell it was much further than I had got since he found towns with other people.

Splatoon game playAbout 5 hours later I decided to take a bath as I had school tomorrow and Sean went in after me, at this point I finally had a chance to continue playing Zelda myself and he said I could keep playing for the rest of the night. However a few hours later I got frustrated with dying so many times, the game was way harder than expected! 😡 I decided to spend a while playing Splatoon and I did way better than I did yesterday and even levelled up, winning 3 out of 4 matches!

Have you played Zelda: Breath of the Wild yet? What do you think of it? Is it worth the £60 which we had to spend on it? Let me know down in the comments below what you think!

I’m in charge of the Shopping List? What the heck is a Passata?!

I’m in charge of the Shopping List? What the heck is a Passata?!

Today has been a long day, I had to wake up at noon then get dressed and ate lunch (I had a sandwich and a packet of Wotsits). Later my dad came over to take me and my mum shopping, he took my brother Sean’s car. We went over to see my granddad at a pub but traumatically I soon found out that I hadn’t charged my phone last night and it was completely dead! We spent about an hour in the pub before we all went to Tesco’s to do some shopping.

I was put in charge of the shopping list so I had to make sure we found everything on the list. On the shopping list my dad had wrote “pasata” so I thought he just mis-spelt “pasta” so throughout the shop I joked with him about his spelling but he kept saying that it was correct, but I didn’t believe him and thought he was joking.. Until we reached the sauces part of the shop and I finally saw “passata”! However he still didn’t spell it right anyway as it had 2 s’s :p

When we finally got to the till, me and my mum took a guess on how much we had spent. I estimated £120 and my mum guessed around £70. The final price ended up only being £75.48, I always try guess the price with my brother Sean when he takes us out shopping and I never guess close enough!

When we got home I helped my mum unload the shopping whilst my dad went down his allotment to water the plants and carrots inside his polytunnel. Sean was still in bed and it was getting pretty late into the afternoon so I woke him up! When he came downstairs he wanted to buy Zelda: Breath of the Wild for our Wii U (which was a massive £60 wow!) and the game also turned out to need a total of 22GB of storage space (11GB then another 11GB for a required update) so pretty much all my installed games had to be deleted to make space (I still have my save files and purchased games can be re-downloaded in future so that’s fine).

Whilst the game was downloading I decided to play Splatoon and I ended up losing all my matches except for 1.. I was as salty as a chip! It’s now 5 hours later and the downloads still haven’t finished either..

Will my dog attack my pet rabbit?!

Will my dog attack my pet rabbit?!

Back in 2011 for my brother Connor’s birthday my family had planned on taking him to a pet shop to pick a pet rabbit. At the time we had just 1 dog but we were unsure how she would behave with a rabbit running around I couldn’t help but think “Will my dog attack my new pet rabbit?”, we had hamsters in the past and Keira didn’t seem very happy with them but in general Keira was pretty tame and was pretty well trained so we were sure we could keep her under control. My dad drove us to McDonald’s first where we decided to get some lunch as it was just after noon. I got a chicken nugget happy meal as I usually do, Connor got a double cheeseburger, my other brother Sean got a Big Mac Meal and my mum and dad just got coffees and cheeseburgers.

Once we were done with our lunch we headed over to Pets at Home to pick out a rabbit to take home. The shop was huge with long aisles of pet accessories everywhere. We spent a while looking at some of the dog toys for our dog Keira (at the time we didn’t have our second dog Molly) before we headed towards the pen of rabbits. Near the rabbit pens they had pens of ferrets as well as hamsters and mice in cages!

Once he looked as the rabbits, Connor quickly picked out a little black and white dwarf rabbit which looked adorable. We asked for an assistant to help us with buying the rabbit but from there we had tons of questions to answer and listen to a lot of information about it before we could just buy it.. Connor also had to show that he could be trusted to hold the rabbit gently too. About an hour later we were able to take the rabbit home, he was in a pet container which Connor held all the way home in the car.

Once we got home with the rabbit we brought it into the house where Keira our pet Border Collie was curious as to was what in the box, we knew they had to learn to be ok with each other though so carefully we let Charlie out careful to make sure Keira was safe with him. Keira ended up being completely fine with it though and eventually stopped really caring about it returning to her basket. My dad had built a rabbit hutch which we filled with saw dust, food and toys – and he loved it!

We still have Charlie the rabbit to this day which our second dog Molly is fine with too, they sometimes play together in the yard running around! I sometimes bring him in the house to play with him, although mum gets mad when he pees everywhere so I have to be careful where he is! Luckily our dogs play nicely with Charlie the rabbit too!

Do you have any pets or just love animals too? Let me know with a comment down below!

This girl doesn’t give up! – Short Christmas Story

This girl doesn’t give up! – Short Christmas Story

During the Christmas holidays I had to write a short story for my English homework which had to be related to the quote “When you think everyone has given up on you there is always that someone”, so I ended up writing a Christmas related sad story which I’m pretty proud of, hopefully you enjoy reading it!

Christmas; The Most Wonderful Time of the Year?

My name’s Jessica, I had the most wonderful parent. They used to often spoil me on occasions when I knew they barely had the money left to do so, the way I saw the world was split into 2 groups, either you’re a rich kid or one of the poor ones. I could tell my parents were fighting to keep us at a blurred median of the two which I appreciated.

Since I wasn’t in the ‘rich kid’ group I wasn’t very popular amongst the other kids and as soon as approached them I would either be ignored, ran away from or had horrible things said to me or just behind my back. I always tried to put on a brave face and walk away like it didn’t bother me but it did, I always felt every comment and every whisper burn away at my being making me feel worse about myself.. but I had no choice but just to live with it, this was my life.

The best part of my days would be to finally go back home to see my parents, I was their only child so my parents were the only people I could really talk to at home once they finished work. Usually I would return to an empty house and they would arrive about 15 minutes later, I was fine with this, I was fine with my life. Until the accident..

Back in a December my parents decided for the three of us to go on a family holiday together to London. It was a last minute decision which made me jump for joy with excitement, I was told we’d only be staying for a couple of nights but holidays were a very rare occurrence for me and I had never actually visited London myself so I couldn’t wait for the following Friday where we had scheduled to leave.

It was a frigidly cold Friday night near Christmas as we made our way to the train station in a taxi, similarly to visiting London I had also never been on a train before! I had packed everything I could think I might need for the holiday with some help from my mum so I was ready for the travel. Once our taxi arrived at the train station we boarded the train with little time to spare and spent the next few hours watching the lights are night scenes whiz past the windows in awe!

Once we arrived at the London train station we had to figure out where we were, which my dad worked out that we were in Monument. Our hotel was on Bond-street which was literally across the other side of the city so it seemed like we still had a long night of travel to do. We managed to hail another taxi which took us most the way and finally found our hotel (which seemingly took forever!) we checked in at the front desk and was taken to our room. The room was beautiful! Amazingly clean with a huge TV and kind sized beds, nothing near to how we lived at home; it looked like this week I could live like one of the rich kids! As we had arrived late it was way past midnight so we all went to sleep for the night with the promise of my city exploring the following day.

The next day I awake to the TV as my dad was watching a news program. Soon enough we were all awake and were ready to head out to explore London in full! We found a pizza restaurant which looked very interesting with comical Italian characters on the store-front so we decided to go inside and get some lunch. We ordered a huge eighteen-inch pepperoni pizza to share between all of us. We didn’t expect it to be as big as it was though and we just couldn’t finish it! Sadly no food was allowed back in the hotel rooms so we couldn’t take the leftovers either.

Several days past and I created tons of new amazing family memories in London but as quickly as it started the trip was over and before I knew it the day was Monday and it was time for school all over again! My happiness was drained from the adventure but little did I know that the day was only going to get much worse.. School ended up being very different that day as a new girl called Eve had moved nearby and was joining our class. During our break she came up to me and I was prepared to hear the usual mean comments which others gave me on a daily basis but instead she asked if she could hang around with me! We spent the rest of the day chatting and sitting together in class. I finally had a friend, someone who cared about me and we shared a lot of interests. After the amazing holiday I was upset at how I had to come back to school so soon but now things were looking up, finally a friend at school to make it so much more bearable!

Once the school day had ended and I arrived home my parents weren’t home as usual so I went to my room. An hour passed and still they weren’t back, if they were working late I would usually hear about it first. Getting worried I picked up my phone to call my mum, no answer. I tried calling my dad, no answer. I calmed myself thinking that they were probably just stuck in a meetings or had important work which needed to be finished. I decided to turn on the TV which was showing the local news, a report about a high speed car crash involving three people in two cars near my parents workplace.

Two familiar faces popped up on the TV screen. My parents. I was locked in shock and fear, tears streaming down my face. The reporter stated that my parents had died in the accident as their car was crushed from a side impact from a heavily drunk driver.

For the next few weeks my neighbour took care of me and after a while I started to go back to school again. Nobody cared about or my parents except Eve. After explaining the events to her she gave me a massive hug. I then told her that I wouldn’t be staying at that school for long, my neighbours couldn’t care for me forever and I was going to be moved into an orphanage across the country.

Several days passed and parents were coming in and out adopting children day after day but I was invisible to them.. It was a week before Christmas and at this point I had got used to being ignored like I had my whole life. Two adults came to see me and actually wanted to adopt me, tears of joy ran down my face as they took me on a very long journey back to their house. Upon arrival I felt like the area was familiar, but I was too nervous to really think about it too much as I followed them into my new home. Inside sitting on a chair was Eve! She ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug ever, her parents adopted me! Even through the horrible Christmas memories haunt me forever I won’t forget my parents and will always love them, but at least now I know there’s other kind-hearted people in this world!

This brings me back up to do with now, me and Eve are the greatest of best friends and sisters! I feel like the world and everyone in it tried to give up on me but Eve never gave up on me. That is when you know you have a real best friend.

Did you enjoy my story? If so maybe you’ll be interested in reading about my actual visit to London from a few months ago!

Sick of my spots.. finally a solution?

Sick of my spots.. finally a solution?

Today I woke up feeling worse than I had yesterday, so when my mum woke up we decided that I should stay off school today so I went back to bed and woke up at about noon. Once I woke up again mum told me she had arranged a doctors appointment later in the day for 4pm to get some help to control my spots before they broke out into really bad acne! I have had really bad spots for a while on my back and shoulders so I needed to find a better spot solution than just the normal creams found in shops.

Soon after waking up at noon my auntie Susan arrived with my cousin Abbey and their pet dog Alfie, a black Cockapoo (which is a mix between a Cocker Spaniel and a poodle). We all chatted together but eventually the conversation moved to my brothers Samsung Gear VR headset which recently my mum has been obsessed with playing scary games on. My mum got Abbey and auntie Susan to play Face Your Fears which is a VR game on the Oculus store for android and asked them to check out the different rooms.

One of the rooms has a simulation where you’re being held by a giant robot and you’re looking down at the city until eventually you get dropped to the ground and another which is a very scary clown horror room where you’re laying in bed as spooky events happen in the room around you! Abbey thought it was really scaring and she didn’t even want to go into clown room but auntie Susan didn’t even seem scared at all! I tried out a simulation of Disney Land in VR which I really enjoyed I went into to the Moana film and found little tiki dolls dancing all around me!

Before we knew it I had to go to my doctors appointment so my auntie Susan dropped me and my mum off at the doctors on her way home. As we arrived I had realised how long it had been since I had last been to the doctors, which is probably a good thing to be fair! It took a while of waiting for the doctor to be ready for us so I got myself pretty nervous of actually meeting them, but it turned out that my doctor was really nice! She examined my spots and quickly understood that I needed some antibiotics as well as some creams which I need to apply daily. (Hopefully they will work because I’m really sick of my spots, and if they don’t then the alternative is a visit to hospital!)

Once we were done in the doctors we had been given a prescription which we had to hand in to the nearby chemist to pick up my items, luckily it’s on the way home and the doctors is only a 10 minute walk from my house anyway so we collected the prescribed items and my mum suddenly decided she also wanted to go to the local co-op to do a quick grocery shop.. but of course my mum spent ages talking to someone in the shop so it was at least another half hour before we got home! Once we were home though I went to take one of the tablets I was given but they were massive, I spent about 20 minutes just looking at it before trying and failing to swallow it a few times! Eventually I did manage it though, it seemed to be much easier to swallow with a hot drink so I’ll remember that when I need to take another tomorrow morning.

Tonight I’m feeling a lot better so I should be back at school tomorrow! Want to ask me something? Leave a comment down below and I’ll check them out!
